Croatia's tourism revenues have exploded with double-digit growth rates in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
ZAGREB, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- Croatia's tourism revenues will increase 4 percent to reach a new record of 15.2 billion euros (16.82 billion U.S. dollars) this year, the local daily Jutarnji List said in a report on Monday.
The predicted 600 million euro boost to the country's tourism economy is the latest official projection of the Croatian National Bank (CNB).
Meanwhile, in 2025 and 2026, the growth rate of Croatia's tourism revenues is expected to accelerate to 4.5 percent, and will reach 15.9 billion euros and 16.6 billion euros respectively, the report said.
The latest CNB projection is based "on the results of a macroeconomic model," on physical indicators about the number of overnight stays and guest arrivals or traffic on highways, financial indicators such as service payment data, etc., the report added.
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Croatia's tourism revenues have exploded with double-digit growth rates. According to the report, they increased by 11.3 percent last year to 14.6 billion euros. In 2022, Croatia's tourism revenues reached 13.1 billion euros, a 44 percent increase from 2021, and 24 percent more than in 2019. (1 euro = 1.11 U.S. dollar) ■
