CAIRO, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- People in the Gaza Strip remain trapped in an endless nightmare of death and destruction, as new evacuation orders have been issued by Israeli authorities, affecting the Deir al-Balah and Khan Younis cities, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) said on Friday.
This came as the Gaza-based health authorities confirmed on Thursday that the Palestinian death toll from Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip over the past 10 months has surpassed 40,000, while the humanitarian situation in the coastal enclave has been worsening.
