PRAGUE -- The Czech Ministry of Health and the State Health Institute (SZU) issued a statement on Thursday, recommending people vaccinate and take preventive measures against mpox if traveling to areas where mpox is currently reported.
The mpox disease, formerly known as monkeypox, does not pose a risk for the Czech Republic, but caution is needed, especially when traveling to Africa, and vaccination is best, said the statement. (Czech Republic-Health)

SANAA -- The U.S.-British coalition conducted an airstrike on Yemen's Red Sea port city of Hodeidah on Thursday evening, according to Houthi-run al-Masirah TV.
The strike reportedly targeted the northwestern al-Salif district, but details on casualties were not immediately available. Residents on social media reported a significant explosion near a Houthi-controlled site. The Houthis control much of northern Yemen, including parts of the Red Sea coast. RAMALLAH -- A Palestinian was killed and another critically injured by gunfire from Israeli settlers in Qalqilya, northern West Bank, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported on Thursday.

ULAN BATOR -- At least 87 livestock were killed after a lightning strike in central Mongolia, the country's National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) reported on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in Khashaat soum, an administrative subdivision of Arkhangai province, on Tuesday, the NEMA said, adding that the sheep and goats, which perished in the lightning strike, belonged to a local herder household. (Mongolia-Lightning Strike-Damage) ■
