NEW YORK, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 jolted Jordan-Syria region at 20:56:01 GMT on Monday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 35.08 degrees north latitude and 36.96 degrees east longitude. ■
