VIENTIANE, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- The China-Laos Digital Economy Cooperation and Exchange Conference and the launching ceremony of Laos Enterprise Credit Information Platform were held in Lao capital Vientiane.

The event on Wednesday was attended by relevant officials from China and Laos. They discussed new ideas for digital economic cooperation. They also witnessed the launch of the Lao Enterprise Credit Information Platform, which was jointly guided by the two governments and jointly built and operated by enterprises from the two countries.

The platform will enhance the transparency of Lao corporate credit information and provide strong information support for Lao companies to participate in international economic and trade exchanges.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, deputy governor of the Lao central bank, the Bank of the Lao PDR (BOL), Khankeo Lamaningao, said the establishment of the platform is an important step in Laos' process of financial modernization. It has laid a solid foundation for the economic and financial development of Laos and will provide Lao businesses with convenient and efficient financial services.

Also speaking at the event, Daovone Phachanthavong, the vice executive president of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said the China-Laos Digital Economy Cooperation and Exchange Conference is an important milestone in Laos' digital transformation process and will promote digital economic cooperation between the two countries to a new level.

In his speech, Zhao Zhigang, deputy secretary-general of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and director-general of the Big Data Development Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, said that he looks forward to further strengthening cooperation with Laos in the field of digital economy and exploring areas of cooperation in cross-border computing power and cross-border flow of data elements.
