ISTANBUL, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- Three people were injured on Thursday in Istanbul, Türkiye's largest city, during a gunfight that broke out between two groups, local media reported.
According to the Demiroren news agency, the incident occurred in the Avcilar district on the European side of the city.
A dispute between two individuals escalated into a physical altercation and later evolved into an armed clash as more people arrived, intensifying the situation, Demiroren said.
The police and emergency medical teams were dispatched to the scene and the injured people were rushed to nearby hospitals.
Demiroren also aired a video showing the altercation and multiple individuals fleeing the scene, while police teams arrived as the armed confrontation continued. The police have initiated an investigation into the incident. ■
