PARIS, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Roje Stona upset his more fancied rivals to claim Jamaica's first ever Olympic men's discus gold medal at the Paris Games on Wednesday.
Stona won the final with an Olympic record throw of 70.00 meters, just 0.03 ahead of Lithuania's world record holder Mykolas Alekna, who took silver.
Australian Matthew Denny clinched bronze with a best effort of 69.31m at Stade de France. ■
