TOKYO, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.9 on Thursday jolted Japanese prefecture of Miyazaki, the weather agency said.
Tsunami warning has been issued, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.
The U.S. Geological Survey put the quake's magnitude at 7.1. ■
