HONG KONG, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.1 jolted 19 km SSE of Miyazaki, Japan at 0742 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 8.8 km, was initially determined to be at 31.75 degrees north latitude and 131.48 degrees east longitude. ■
