PARIS, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- The United States quartet of Lily Williams, Jennifer Valiente, Chloe Dygert and road race gold medalist, Kristen Faulkner will ride for gold of the women's team pursuit at the Paris Olympics against New Zealand after Wednesday's midday session.
The American's completed the 16 laps of the 250-meter track in 4:04.629, marginally ahead of the British time of 4:04.908, meaning Faulkner has the chance to add track gold to her road-race success on Sunday.
New Zealand had set the fastest time in Tuesday's qualifying, but were slightly slower than the Americans on Wednesday posting a time of 4:04.818 seconds.
Britain will race Italy for the bronze medal. ■
