PARIS, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- Katie Ledecky won the ninth Olympic gold medal of her career, when she won the women's 800m freestyle in the Paris Games on Saturday.
Ledecky led from the start of the race, finishing in 8:11.04, with Ariarne Titmus of Australia winning silver in 8:12.29, and American swimmer Paige Madden took the bronze in 8:13.00.
The 27-year-old has now won the 800m freestyle in each of those Olympics, adding Paris to her successes in London, Rio and Tokyo. ■
