PARIS, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Veteran sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce had no problems qualifying for the semifinals of the Paris Olympics women's 100 meters as she breezed through her first-round race on Friday morning.
The 37-year-old posted the second fastest time of the round, with 10.92 seconds, which was 0.05 seconds behind Marie-Josée Ta Lou-Smith from the Cote d'Ivoire.
Reigning world champion Sha'Carri Richardson also breezed through with a time of 10.94 in her heat to also book a place in Saturday's semifinals.
Fraser-Pryce is competing in her fifth and final Games after winning 100 meters gold in Beijing 2008 and London 2012, bronze in Rio 2016 and silver in Tokyo, along with three relay medals. ■
