In a bid to build Xinjiang into an international civil aviation hub for Eurasia, China Southern Airlines signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Xinjiang Airport Group on July 28.
In the first half of 2024, China Southern Airlines boasted 83 domestic routes and 18 international and regional routes from Xinjiang.
On July 18, the daily passenger throughput of Urumqi International Airport exceeded 100,000 for the first time, a historic high.■
