PARIS, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Local hero Leon Marchand secured his second gold medal of the Paris Olympics on Wednesday by winning the men's 200m butterfly.
Buoyed by electric support from 17,000 fans at La Defense Arena, the 22-year-old Frenchman touched the wall in an Olympic record time of one minute 51.21 seconds.
Hungary's Kristof Milak took silver in 1:51.75 and Canadian Ilya Kharun bronze in 1:52.80.
Marchand also won gold in the 400m individual medley on Sunday. ■
