YANGON, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar police have arrested five suspects who snatched cash on a street in Thonse town of Bago region, the state-run daily Myanma Alinn reported on Thursday.
The theft occurred at around 11 a.m. local time on Wednesday when a local man placed his 20 million kyats of cash (about 9,523 U.S. dollars), which he had withdrawn from a bank, on his motorcycle and went to have a salad at a shop, the report said.
A group of five men on four motorcycles arrived at the scene and snatched the cash from the motorcycle, the report added.
The suspects were arrested on the same day in Letpadan township of Bago region, it said, adding that they were charged at the Thonse police station. ■
