NEW DELHI, July 31 (Xinhua) -- Walking along the banks of Yamuna River in New Delhi, a magnificent red complex captures your eyes with its unique architectural style, and that is the Humayun's Tomb, the first garden tomb on the Indian subcontinent.
Humayun's tomb, built in 1570, is the first of the grand dynastic mausoleums that were to become synonyms of Mughal architecture with the architectural style reaching its zenith 80 years later at the later Taj Mahal.
The tomb was inscribed on the World Heritage List by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1993.
