NEW DELHI, July 31 (Xinhua) -- The Indian government has formulated an action plan for managing Zika virus disease in the country.
According to the federal health ministry, the plan provides detailed guidance on various public health actions that need to be taken in response to the disease outbreak.
The information was given by India's federal junior health minister Anupriya Patel on Tuesday in a written statement in the upper house of the Indian parliament.
The minister said an integrated disease surveillance program at the National Center for Disease Control is mandated with surveillance and response to 33 plus outbreak prone communicable diseases including Zika virus. ■
