PARIS, July 27 (Xinhua) -- World time trial champion Remco Evenepoel of Belgium added an Olympic gold medal to his collection with a powerful display to win the men's time trial at the Paris Olympic Games.
The Belgian rider finished the 32.4-kilometer course in 36 minutes and 12 seconds, with Italian Filippo Ganna finishing second in 36:27. Wout van Aert made it two Belgians on the podium, who won a bronze in 36:37.
Britain's Josh Tarling was just outside the medals, but will no doubt wonder what might have been after he suffered a front wheel puncture in the opening kilometers of the race.
Australia's Grace Brown won the women's time trial which was raced over the same course before the men's event. ■
