MANILA, July 27 (Xinhua) -- At least 12 people were injured after a passenger van collided with a commuter train in Albay province, southeast of Manila, on Saturday afternoon, police said.
Police said the crash occurred at around 2:30 p.m. local time when the van crossed railroad track in Daraga town.
Police added that the train, traveling south to Legazpi City, hit the middle section of the van and dragged it almost 24 meters due to the impact.
Rescue workers took the 12 injured van passengers to a local hospital for medical treatment. ■
