BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, July 25 (Xinhua) -- The defense forces of China and Brunei have always maintained friendly and cooperative relations, setting a good example of countries living together for mutual benefit and win-win situation, Dai Qilin, defense attache of the Chinese embassy in Brunei, said on Thursday.

At a reception celebrating the 97th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, Dai told guests that China has always been a builder of world peace, a contributor to global development and a defender of international order.

Dai said that China and Brunei are close neighbors across the sea, trustworthy friends and partners of common development, and the two sides have set a good example of large and small countries living together in harmony for mutual benefit and win-win situation.

"The cooperation between China and Brunei in the field of peacekeeping not only reflects the strategic mutual trust, but also demonstrates the strategic orientation of both sides to jointly maintain regional peace," Dai noted.

About 260 guests from the Brunei government, armed forces and members of the diplomatic corps as well as representatives of the Chinese societies in Brunei attended the reception.
