KIEV, July 25 (Xinhua) -- The National Bank of Ukraine on Thursday raised the country's gross domestic product (GDP) growth expectation for this year from 3 percent to 3.7 percent.
The bank listed a better-than-expected economic performance in the first quarter of 2024 and an anticipated expansion of fiscal stimulus as the main reasons behind the upgrade.
The bank predicted that the inflation in Ukraine will accelerate to 8.5 percent this year from 5.1 percent in 2023.
According to official statistics, Ukraine's GDP grew by 5.3 percent in 2023. ■
