HANOI, July 25 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese consumers spent 143.9 trillion Vietnamese dong (5.68 billion U.S. dollars) buying 1.53 million items on five e-commerce platforms in the first half of this year, Vietnam News Agency cited market analysis firm Metric on Thursday.
This represented a rise of 54.91 percent and 65.55 percent over the same period last year, respectively.
The firm said the growth mainly came from TikTok Shop and Shopee. The two platforms registered positive growth rates of 150.54 percent and 65.96 percent in revenue during the cited period.
The figures demonstrate the robust e-commerce market of Vietnam as well as the ability of sellers to take advantage of online shopping trends, said the report.
In its recent report, OpenGov Asia, a content platform dedicated to sharing ICT-related knowledge and information, said Vietnam's e-commerce market boasted an average annual growth rate of 16 to 30 percent over the past four years, the highest in the region of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. ■
