ANKARA, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Ephesus was an ancient Greek city located on the coast of Ionia, near present-day Selcuk in western Türkiye.
It was founded in the 10th century BC and flourished under Greek, Roman, and Byzantine rule. Ephesus was renowned for its grand architecture, including the Temple of Artemis -- one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
