ABIDJAN, July 23 (Xinhua) -- Cote d'Ivoire's Independent Electoral Commission announced on Tuesday the installation of local electoral commissions across the country to prepare for the presidential election in 2025.
In a press release, the Independent Electoral Commission said local electoral commissions will be installed from July 22 to Aug. 2.
The establishment of local electoral commissions precedes the operation to revise the electoral list, as a prelude to the presidential election scheduled for October 2025.
The revising of the electoral list will start on Sept. 30 and end on Oct. 31, according to the Independent Electoral Commission.
The establishment of local electoral commissions, to be managed by an office composed of a president, a vice-president, a secretary and a treasurer, corresponds to the election of members of their respective offices at the regional, departmental, sub-prefectural and municipal levels. ■
