HONG KONG, July 15 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 hit 27 km northeast of Ambunti, Papua New Guinea at 0815 GMT on Monday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 8.6 km, was initially determined to be at 4.04 degrees south latitude and 142.98 degrees east longitude. ■
