NEW YORK, July 11 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar weakened in late trading on Thursday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, lost 0.58 percent to 104.441 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro was up to 1.0868 U.S. dollars from 1.0825 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound climbed to 1.2913 U.S. dollars from 1.2846 U.S. dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 158.75 Japanese yen, lower than 161.78 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar lost to 0.8955 Swiss francs from 0.8997 Swiss francs, and it added to 1.3632 Canadian dollars from 1.3622 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar was down to 10.4980 Swedish kronor from 10.5496 Swedish kronor. ■
