NEW DELHI, July 12 (Xinhua) -- India's retail inflation rose to a four-month high of 5.08 percent in June, the latest government data showed Friday.
According to the data released by the federal Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, inflation based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in June was 5.08 percent.
In May CPI was 4.80 percent.
Food inflation rose to 9.36 percent in June from 8.69 percent in May, data showed.
Experts have attributed the food inflation to the impact of heatwave on vegetables. ■
