MANILA, July 11 (Xinhua) -- A landslide triggered by an excavation has killed four people in Antipolo City in Rizal province, east of Manila, the city's public information chief said Thursday.
Relly Bernardo, also the spokesperson for the Antipolo City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, said the landslide occurred at a construction site inside a private subdivision on Wednesday afternoon, burying seven people.
He said rescue workers retrieved the bodies of the four and saved three others trapped under the soil and mud.
"All the seven victims are accounted for," he told Xinhua via telephone, adding that the city has launched an investigation into the incident. ■
