HAVANA, July 9 (Xinhua) -- While claiming to fight terrorism, the United States turns a blind eye to violent incursions planned in its territory against Cuba, the Caribbean island said on Tuesday.
"For some time we have been alerting the United States about terrorists operating against Cuba from Florida. However, they continue to act with impunity," Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel said on social media X, formerly Twitter.
"That is being a state sponsor of terrorism! Evident imperial cynicism," he added.
Washington regularly includes Cuba on a list of State Sponsors of Terrorism that is compiled by the U.S. State Department.
Bruno Rodriguez, Cuba's minister of foreign affairs, said that "terrorist operations and violent acts against Cuba are organized and financed from United States territory."
"The Government of that country knows about it and tolerates it. These are actions that have the support of well-known political figures with anti-Cuban positions," he said in a post on X. ■
