BEIJING, July 7 (Xinhua) -- At the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang, Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will pay an official visit to China from July 8 to July 10.
Sheikh Hasina, 77, the eldest daughter of Bangladesh's founding father Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dhaka University.
In 1981, she was elected as president of the Awami League.
She has served as Prime Minister of Bangladesh four times, namely in 1996, 2009, 2014, and 2019. In January 2024, she was elected as prime minister for the fifth time. ■
