BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Brunei officially launched the first school for special needs students in the country, Brunei's official media has reported.

Brunei's Prince Abdul Mateen on Thursday officiated the opening of the Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam School and associated facilities.

The prince said at the ceremony that it is not just an organization or a building, it is a place where every child, regardless of their abilities, will have the opportunity to learn and grow, according to Pelita Brunei, an official media of Brunei.

The school employs a holistic approach to education, offers rehabilitation services, and aims to create an empowering and nurturing environment where every individual can thrive, according to the reports.

Brunei is an oil-rich country located in the northern part of the Borneo island, with a population of 450,000 and a high level of social welfare.
