ISLAMABAD, July 4 (Xinhua) -- A terrorist commander was killed in an operation by security forces in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Wednesday, a military statement said.
The incident happened in Bajaur District of the province where the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation on reported presence of the terrorist, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistan Army's media wing said in the statement.
The terrorist commander was killed after an intense fire exchange during the operation, the statement added.
The commander was actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces as well as extortion and target killings of innocent civilians, the ISPR added. ■
