BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, July 4 (Xinhua) -- The Brunei Info-Communication Technology Awards (BICTA) 2024 was held in Brunei's International Convention Center, featuring 10 categories to encourage more participation and more opportunities to generate creative and innovative ICT creations.
Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary, minister of transport and info-communications of Brunei Darussalam, said Wednesday that the initiatives signify our commitment to strengthen the local innovation ecosystem and drive technology-based economic growth.
"With proper support and continuous commitment from various parties, I am confident that we will be able to achieve a better position with excellent performance in the field of digital innovation," the minister was quoted by the local daily Borneo Bulletin as saying.
Brunei has been committed to promoting economic diversification and technological innovations, and the government introduced a series of policies, including the Digital Economy Masterplan 2025, to accelerate the development of digital economy. ■
