ISLAMABAD -- At least three people were killed in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, police said on Wednesday.
According to police officials in the area, the blast occurred in Bajaur district of the province, killing the three people on the spot, including a former member of the Senate. (Pakistan-Blast)

RAMALLAH -- A young Palestinian man in the northern West Bank city of Jenin was killed by Israeli forces on Wednesday, the Palestinian health authorities said.

LISBON -- At least three people were killed and seven went missing after a trawler sank in the early hours of Wednesday off the coast of Marinha Grande in Leiria, Portugal.

YAOUNDE -- At least five soldiers and six civilians were killed on Tuesday after armed rebels raided two army bases in the Central African Republic (CAR), military sources and officials said.
The attack took place in Ngoutere and Bocaranga localities in the Ouham-Pende region in the northwestern part of the country where CAR armed forces have bases, said Fidele Pandjekane, mayor of Bocaranga council. (CAR-Attack-Rebels) ■
