BUCHAREST, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Romania announced on Tuesday that it is ready to host the European Youth Archery Championships from July 8 to 13.

The event will see over 450 athletes from 38 countries and regions compete at the Hipodrom Complex in Ploiesti, about 56km north of Bucharest, according to Milan Cornel, president of the Romanian Archery Federation, in a press release.

Cornel expressed excitement about hosting the championship, highlighting it as a significant opportunity for Romanian archery, especially following Madalina Amaistroaie's recent qualification for the Paris Olympics.

"We are thrilled to host such a major event, featuring Europe's top teams. We have all the necessary resources to organize an international event of high standards. Hosting the European Championships is a great opportunity for Romanian archery enthusiasts, and we hope this marks the beginning of many prestigious competitions in the future," he said.
