ISLAMABAD, July 1 (Xinhua) -- A paramilitary trooper and a policeman were killed while repulsing a terrorist attack in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Monday, police said.
The incident happened in Khyber district of the province where the terrorists stormed a police station in the wee hours of the morning, the police added.
The attack led to an exchange of fire between militants and law enforcement agencies including police and the paramilitary troops frontier corps, stationed inside the building.
The terrorists fled the site after the retaliatory attack, the police added.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the deceased law enforcers and expressed resolve to wipe out terrorism from Pakistan. ■
