ISLAMABAD, June 27 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted multiple operations across the country and seized over 344 kg of drugs, ANF officials said on Thursday.
During the four counter-narcotics operations, the force arrested at least three drug traffickers while seizing narcotics including methamphetamine, hashish, and opium, while impounding several vehicles that were being used for smuggling, the ANF officials said.
According to officials, about 316.7 kg of methamphetamine and 17.2 kg of opium were recovered during a house raid in the Nok Kundi area of the country's southwest Balochistan province, adding that the drugs were concealed tactfully in the house.
In two separate operations in southern port city of Karachi, 6 kg of hashish was recovered from a motorcycle rider intercepted near the Sohrab Goth area of the city, the ANF said, adding that the ANF also recovered 2.9 kg of hashish from an accused rounded up near the Qayyumabad area of Karachi city.
Separately, authorities said they recovered more than 1 kg of methamphetamine in the Multan district of eastern Punjab province. An accused was also arrested during the operation.
Separate cases have been registered against the arrested persons while further investigations are under process, said the ANF officials. ■
