ADELAIDE, Australia, June 26 (Xinhua) -- More than 1,000 potato scientists, researchers and industry representatives from over 40 countries and regions gathered at the 12th World Potato Congress (WPC) that concluded on Wednesday to discuss industry development.
The four-day event held in Adelaide, Australia covered potato trade, climate change and the food system, sustainable agriculture, and the application of science and technology.
More than 50 potato industry academics, entrepreneurs and government agency representatives from China attended the conference.
As an event for the global potato industry, the WPC aims to catapult potatoes into the spotlight as a compelling, nutritional and health-conscious food choice. It builds an important platform for international cooperation and exchanges. ■
