ANKARA, June 25 (Xinhua) -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan condemned the attacks in Dagestan region of Russia during phone talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, Türkiye's Communications Directorate said on Tuesday.
In the phone call held on Tuesday, Erdogan said that "Türkiye is against all forms of terrorism and strongly condemns the attacks," expressing his condolences to the Russian people for those who lost their lives, and wished for a speedy recovery for the injured people, the directorate said on social media platform X.
The shootings occurred on Sunday at two orthodox churches, a synagogue and a traffic police post in the coastal city of Derbent and Dagestan's capital city of Makhachkala, leaving 20 people dead and 46 others injured. ■
