XI'AN, China, June 24 (Xinhua) -- China's third-tier soccer club Shaanxi Union announced on Monday that former Chinese national team member Pei Shuai has joined the club from the Chinese Super League (CSL) side Qingdao West Coast.

The 30-year-old began his career with Changchun Yatai in 2011. Before leaving Yatai for Tianjin Quanjian in 2017, Pei scored seven goals in his 141 appearances.

In 2017, Pei joined the Chinese national team, participating in the China Cup. Since 2020, Pei has played for Shenzhen FC and Qingdao West Coast.

Pei is versatile on the field, capable of playing as a midfielder, side back, and center back. "Pei has outstanding insight on the court, and we expect him, with his top division league experience, to bring more vitality to our team," Shaanxi Union stated in its media release.

"I have heard Shaanxi fans' enthusiasm for football. I will let them cheer for me through having good performances," Pei wrote in his letter to Shaanxi fans.

In China's third-tier football league, Shaanxi Union currently sits first in the Northern division table.
