KIEV, June 19 (Xinhua) -- The Ukrainian economy is facing increasing risks amid the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) said in a report on Wednesday.
The central bank listed the higher intensity of hostilities and the destruction of energy infrastructure as the main challenges facing the Ukrainian economy.
The shortage of electricity and the lack of qualified personnel may also adversely impact Ukraine's macroeconomic performance, the report suggested.
It added that foreign financial aid is currently assisting Ukraine in keeping the economic risks under control.
Ukraine's GDP, which expanded 5.3 percent in 2023, is projected to rise by 3 percent this year, according to the latest NBU forecast. ■
