CAIRO, June 16 (Xinhua) -- Muslims in the Middle East on Sunday celebrate Eid al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice.

Eid al-Adha is a major Islamic holiday. In the morning, some Muslims would gather at major mosques to perform prayers. People also perform the ritual of the festival by slaughtering an animal, and giving the meat to their friends, family, as well as the poor and needy.
