VIENTIANE, June 14 (Xinhua) -- Laos recorded a trade deficit of 151 million U.S. dollars in May, marking the fifth straight month of trade deficit in 2024.
Total value of trade in May amounted to over 1.1 billion U.S. dollars, of which 483 million dollars was for exports and 634 million dollars for imports, according to a report by the Lao Trade Portal website on Friday.
Laos recorded a trade deficit of 198 million dollars in April, 81 million dollars in March, 40 million dollars in February, and 188 million dollars in January, according to the website. ■
