COLOMBO, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lankan State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe said on Thursday that the completion of the second review of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) would unlock 336 million U.S. dollars for Sri Lanka, with a substantial impact on the country's economy.
In an online post, the minister emphasized that the milestone demonstrates a continued dedication to economic recovery and growth, crucial for reinforcing economic stability and resilience.
The development will also pave the way for more robust economic policies and reforms for long-term sustainable growth and prosperity, according to the minister.
The IMF said earlier that the disbursement brings its total financial support provided thus far to 1 billion dollars. ■
