NEW YORK, June 12 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar weakened in late trading on Wednesday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, lost 0.56 percent to 104.642 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro advanced to 1.0812 U.S. dollars from 1.0743 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound was up to 1.2813 U.S. dollars from 1.2746 U.S. dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 156.61 Japanese yen, lower than 157.02 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar fell to 0.8941 Swiss francs from 0.8972 Swiss francs, and it declined to 1.3717 Canadian dollars from 1.3753 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar lost to 10.3621 Swedish kronor from 10.4814 Swedish kronor. ■
