MANILA, June 11 (Xinhua) -- The Philippines' total external trade in goods increased by 17.2 percent in April 2024 to 17.19 billion U.S. dollars from 14.66 billion dollars in April 2023, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) said on Tuesday.

Of the total external trade in April 2024, the agency said 63.8 percent were imported goods, while the rest were exported goods.

The PSA data showed the trade deficit in April 2024 amounted to 4.76 billion dollars, indicating an annual decrease of 1.5 percent.

China was the Philippines' largest supplier of imported goods and fourth-largest export destination in April 2024, according to the PSA.
