NEW DELHI, June 10 (Xinhua) -- At least four members of a family were drowned in a river in India's northern state of Uttar Pradesh on Monday, confirmed a local cop over phone.
The deceased, including three females and one boy, were aged between 12 and 50.
The incident occurred in the state's Lakhimpur Kheri district when the deceased were bathing in the river Ghaghara.
"While bathing the deceased were making their own video reel. Suddenly a 12-year-old boy among them slipped, lost his balance and began to drown. The rest tried to save him, but ultimately they all were caught in strong flow of the river. All of them died by drowning in the river. Their dead bodies have been recovered," said the local cop. ■
