The rescue team managed to extract a male passenger in his 60s who was trapped inside about two hours later, but he was pronounced dead due to drowning after being rushed to the hospital, Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun reported.

The other two passengers, a man in his 40s and another in his 30s, thrown into the river upon capsizing, were both rescued shortly after the accident. One escaped unharmed, while the other sustained minor injuries.

According to Asahi Shimbun, the pleasure boat weighed 2.4 tons and measured 6.45 meters in length, and visibility was reported to be good at the time of the accident.
