NEW YORK, June 7 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar increased in late trading on Friday.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, went up 0.75 percent to 104.885 at 3:00 p.m. (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro dropped to 1.0806 U.S. dollars from 1.0893 U.S. dollars in the previous session, and the British pound fell to 1.2724 U.S. dollars from 1.2794 U.S. dollars in the previous session.
The U.S. dollar bought 156.64 Japanese yen, higher than 155.67 Japanese yen of the previous session. The U.S. dollar was up to 0.8963 Swiss francs from 0.8906 Swiss francs, and it added to 1.3745 Canadian dollars from 1.3668 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar increased to 10.5410 Swedish kronor from 10.3936 Swedish kronor. ■
