ST. PETERSBURG, June 8 (Xinhua) -- More than 980 agreements worth 6.4 trillion rubles (about 72 billion U.S. dollars) were signed at the 27th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the largest one in Russia, a Russian official said on Saturday.
Around 21,300 participants from 139 countries and regions took part in this year's forum, said Anton Kobyakov, an adviser to the Russian president and executive secretary of the forum's organizing committee.
Kobyakov noted that the participants and interest in the forum exceeded "pre-COVID levels."
This year's forum, held from Wednesday to Saturday and themed "The Formation of New Areas of Growth as the Cornerstone of a Multipolar World," focuses on key economic issues facing the country, emerging markets, and the world, according to the organizer. ■
